Declan Devine demands crucial factor missing from Glentoran's season
Declan Devine has demanded consistency from Glentoran as they look to build on last week's gutsy derby win over Linfield. The Glens overcame James Douglas' sending off to earn a 1-0 win at the Oval.
It was the second time this season they have claimed the 'Big Two' bragging rights, following a 3-1 victory at Windsor Park last month.
Despite the double high, Glentoran's season has been punctuated by laboured performances and under-par results, a blight that leaves them fifth in the table and eight points adrift of the Blues.

Devine accepts inconsistency has plagued their campaign so far, but insists last Friday's derby win is evidence of a side that can compete for major honours this season.
Ahead of Saturday's clash with basement side Loughgall, Devine said: “Last week demonstrated what this group is capable of. The fight and resilience we showed against Linfield, especially playing with 10 men in the second half, was outstanding.
"But there’s no point in beating one of our biggest rivals one week and then dropping points the next. We can’t allow that to happen. Loughgall may be at the bottom of the table, but they’re a team fighting for every point.
"We need to match their hunger and energy from the first whistle and ensure we play to our strengths.”
The Glens boss added: “We want to stamp our authority on this game from the outset, with every player winning their individual battles on the pitch.
“Last week’s result against Linfield proved our resilience, but now it’s about combining that with control, creativity, and clinical finishing to turn performances into consistent results.”

Glentoran's players enjoyed a break following their win over Linfield, and Devine says they have returned to training with a "real hunger and focus".
He said: "They are determined to kick on and use last week’s result as a springboard to push us further up the table. Having Jonny Russell back in the mix is a massive lift for us, and Singo (James Singleton) signing a new deal is fantastic news for the club.
"His commitment is a real statement of intent and shows the direction we’re heading as a team.”
