West Ham feel increasingly confident that Declan Rice will give it one more year before moving on to further his career, according to a report.

The England midfielder has become one of the most sought-after talents in the country following his recent rise. As a result, speculation about his contract has ramped up alongside the interest in him.

He has two years left on his current deal, but West Ham are likely to take those terms until 2025 with their option of an extra year.

Nevertheless, they have already offered Rice a massive new eight-year deal. The midfielder has reportedly rejected that offer, but that does not mean he is off this summer either.

In fact, the Sunday Mirror now reports that Rice is willing to stay for one more season.

He has strong interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, who are both looking to revamp their midfield by signing the 23-year-old.

However, Rice is reportedly in no great rush to advance his career with a big move elsewhere in the Premier League.

West Ham have insisted in recent months that they will not sell Rice this summer. And the newspaper adds that there is a ‘growing feeling’ from club chiefs that the player feels the same way.

Rice‘s Hammers got to the Europa League semi-finals this season and will be playing in at least the Europa Conference League next season.

The midfielder enjoyed the big European nights this season and is looking forward to more next term.

What’s more, he has the World Cup with England to look forward to in the winter. Rice has become a key figure in Gareth Southgate’s set up and will be in Qatar if he stays fit.

Rice may be one of the most exciting prospects in both the Premier League and for England, but there is no big rush over his career.

At 23, he is a way off his prime and can afford to focus on West Ham’s exciting journey under David Moyes.

They have come close to a top-four finish on two occasions now – without serious investment.

If the Hammers can keep Rice and a top new striker, they can look to push for a top-four finish and continue their journey.
