Dellacqua stuns Wickmayer in Dallas

Australia's Casey Dellacqua stunned fourth seed Yanina Wickmayer 6-4 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Texas Open in Dallas.


The world number 106 proved too strong for the Belgian, who is ranked 78 places above her, sealing a straight-set win to book a date with Aleksandra Wozniak in the last eight.

Canada's Wozniak secured her progress with a 6-2 6-2 win over compatriot Eugenie Bouchard.

Second seed Jelena Jankovic also moved on, the Serb beating Arantxa Rus 7-6(5) 6-2 to set up a clash with Sorana Cirstea following the Romanian eighth seed's 6-1 7-5 win over Alizé Cornet.

Third seed Roberta Vinci encountered few problems on her way to a 6-2 6-3 win over Polona Hercog and the Italian will now play Chanelle Scheepers for a place in the semi-finals. South African Scheepers downed Kiwi player Marina Erakovic 6-4 7-6(3).

Sixth seed Peng Shuai and Bojana Jovanovski complete the quarter-final line-up after respective second round wins.

Chinese Peng beat Pauline Parmentier of France 6-4 6-2 while Serb Jovanovski downed Croat Mirjana Lucic 7-6(5) 6-2.
