Denise Van Outen has opened up about the possibility of Channel 4 show The Big Breakfast making a comeback.

Denise revealed she's been back in touch with her co-presenter Johnny Vaughan - but says any reports of a planned 30 year anniversary return are just rumours. But she has admitted she's like to team up with him again on TV.

Denise presented the show for three years from 1997, after Gaby Roslin and Chris Evans launched it in 1992. Ever since Johnny and Denise have been back in touch, rumours have abounded that the show would be coming back to celebrate its 30 year anniversary in 2022 - but Denise says that's not to be.

Denise famously quit The Big Breakfast in 2000, after discovering that Johnny was paid more than her for doing the same job. The pair hadn't spoken for 20 years, but the impact of lockdown got them back in contact.

"It is just that, it’s a rumour," she told Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid of the possibility of a comeback. "I think this has come from me reconnecting with Johnny over the last year - we’ve been doing a lot of chatting.

"We never really had a major fall out, our careers went on different paths, we’ve reconnected. I’ve got a lot of love for Johnny, always have and we’ve got a very similar humour.

"Lockdown did a lot of things for a lot of friendships and people reconnecting and some people, their relationship went to dust. We were that lucky partnership that got back in touch. I would love to work with him again, we both said we’d like to do something… we have started conversations."

Fingers crossed!
