Deontay Wilder reportedly arrested in Los Angeles, tweets: 'I'd rather be safe than sorry'
Former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was arrested in Los Angeles in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to reports. TMZ Sports reported that Wilder's car was stopped by police and a gun was allegedly found in the vehicle. Wilder, 37, later appeared to reference the incident when he tweeted: "I'd rather be safe than sorry. The End."

The American is touted as the next opponent for Britain's Anthony Joshua, in Saudi Arabia in December. Wilder's reign as WBC heavyweight champion was ended by Tyson Fury in 2020.
