Derailed Ian McCall vs. John Lineker Bout Rescheduled for UFC 183

The derailed fight between top flyweight contenders Ian McCall and John Lineker has been rescheduled for UFC 183, which is set to take place on Jan. 31 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

McCall vs. Lineker was originally slated for UFC Fight Night 56 in Uberlandia, Brazil on Nov. 8. The bout was initially threatened when Lineker once again failed to make weight. McCall, however, accepted the fight at a catchweight, but then fell ill and was not allowed to fight.

The two will now meet as part of the support cast for a card that is topped by the return of former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who faces the also-returning Nick Diaz in a five-round non-title bout.

McCall (13-4-1) is currently ranked no. 3 in the UFC 125-pound rankings. The 30-year-old California native is on a two-fight winning streak. He last competed on July 19, defeating Brad Pickett by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 46.

Lineker (24-7) is ranked no. 7 in the UFC’s flyweight division. The 24-year-old Brazilian last completed on July 16, defeating Alptekin Ozkilic by knockout at UFC Fight Night 45.
