Derby County stalwart Curtis Nelson ruled out for season
Derby County have suffered an injury hammer blow with the news Curtis Nelson has been ruled out for the season.
The Rams have today confirmed the unfortunate situation with a statement on their website which reveals the ever present defender has suffered ‘a significant knee ligament injury’.
The club statement reads: “The 31-year-old was assessed following the Rams’ Sky Bet Championship defeat to Watford on Saturday and is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

“Head Coach Paul Warne said: "Our sympathies are with him, unfortunately his season is over. He has [suffered] severe knee damage so he'll be out for a long period of time – he's heartbroken, as you can imagine. He's a real warrior, so it's really sad for the dressing room and for all of us."
This means for the first time since signing as a free agent from Blackpool in the summer of 2023 the centre back will miss games. He played every match in the promotion campaign and has started all 27 of the Rams’ Championship matches.
The blow comes after Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Watford left Derby only one point above the bottom three.
