Devils lose Taylor Hall for 3-4 weeks after meniscus surgery

Wednesday has been a pretty brutal day for injury news regarding NHL stars.

First, we learned Johnny Gaudreau will miss an extended period of time with a broken finger. Secondly, we’re awaiting word on Steven Stamkos’ status, with a rumor out there via Elliotte Friedman that it’s a meniscus issue.

Now we have the New Jersey Devils telling us that Taylor Hall will miss the next 3-4 weeks after undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Hall, who leads the Devils in scoring with 5 goals and 12 points, arrived at American Airlines Center in Dallas before their Tuesday game against the Stars and told team trainers something was bothering him in his leg. He then flew back to New Jersey to be examined and undergo an MRI. It’s unsure when exactly the he suffered the injury.

Tampa Bay Lightning fans now anxiously await news on Stamkos hoping that if the captain suffered something similar, the recovery period is the same as Hall’s and not anything more serious.
