Diego Llorente makes Leeds United admission amid Aston Villa transfer link
He may have already played for three clubs in the less than two years, but that may not stop Diego Llorente being on the move again with talk of a possible return to England this January. The former Leeds United defender is being heavily linked with a switch to Aston Villa, as the Premier League club look to boost their defensive options for a campaign that sees them pushing for the top four, while doing well in the Champions League.
Llorente is currently at the start of a four-year contract at Real Betis, making another switch seem a strange move, but it appears it is one which could happen. The Spanish international will hope if he is to return to England he can get off to a better start than the one he endured at Leeds, with his form at the club not justifying the transfer fee and trust placed in him.
Llorente has been speaking about his start at Leeds and has admitted how difficult he found settling in following his £18m move in September 2020, in what was a Covod-hit first season back in the Premier League for Leeds.

"It was a complicated period, because many factors came together, said Llorente, speaking to Diario de Sevilla. "It was still a time of Covid and there was no normality either on a personal or sporting level. It was also my first adventure outside Spain, which implies a necessary adaptation because the English culture is very different to ours.
"I did have a bit of a hard time in the first few months, but I got through it thanks to hard work and with the help of the medical staff. It was a coincidence of life that I ended up going to the Euros that season after showing a good level."
