Bivol was returning to the ring for the first time since his stunning upset win over Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez where he won the WBA light-heavyweight title. There were a lot of eyes on the fight wondering if he would be able to replicate the form that allowed him to upset Alvarez or if it was just a flash in the pan. The Russian comfortably lived up to the billing, looking comfortable throughout and claiming a dominant 118-110, 117-111 (twice) win. "I have a goal; I wanna be undisputed champion, but it doesn't all depend on me," Bivol said after the fight. "If it all depends on me, I fight for all four belts. ... I hope they are listening to me, what I want. I'm like a kid who has a dream; I want to go with this dream."
