Freddie Freeman's return to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday marked a very important occasion. For the last few days, Freeman had been on leave from the Dodgers due to the hospitalization of his 3-year-old son, Maximus.

But on Monday, Freeman returned to the Dodgers' lineup after news broke that Max was home from the hospital after being treated for Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. Freeman and his wife Chelsea announced the news on Sunday in an Instagram post after a lengthy eight-day stay in a hospital.

And when Freeman returned to the field for the Dodgers for a Monday night bout against the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles fans treated him to a lengthy and emotional standing ovation.
