Dominik Szoboszlai has allayed fears of a serious injury problem after the Liverpool midfielder suffered a fitness scare with Hungary.

Szoboszlai was forced off before the hour having undergone treatment for a thigh problem during his country's 3-0 win over Israel in their final Euro 2024 warm-up match on Saturday evening.

While the 23-year-old left the field with the area bandaged, Hungary national team boss Marco Rossi hinted after the game the issue was only a minor one.

And Szoboszlai himself later played down suggestions he was in danger of missing his country's opening Euro 2024 game against Switzerland next Saturday.

"I'll be fine!" he said, speaking to Hungary news outlet M4 Sport. "I felt that my legs were a bit stiff, and that's why I didn't want to play on. I didn't want to take any risks.

"We started the match very well, the first half was particularly good. It was good for the last match. The most important thing is for everyone to be healthy,"

Szoboszlai impressed during the first half of the season with Liverpool having arrived from RB Leipzig for £60million last summer, but struggled later on having twice suffered hamstring problems.

Having taken on Switzerland, Hungary also play hosts Germany and Andy Robertson's Scotland as they aim to reach the knockout stages of the European Championships for only the second time in more than 50 years.
