Pat Fenlon has made his first signing as Hibernian manager after being joined at Easter Road by fellow Irishman Eoin Doyle.
Hibernian announced that Doyle had agreed an 18-month contract after leaving Sligo Rovers.
The striker will not be eligible until after the January transfer window opens.
The former Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers striker, who scored 23 goals for Sligo last season, impressed on trial with Hibs this week.
Sligo had been hoping to secure compensation for the out-of-contract forward but as he is under 24 he is allowed to make a cross-border move for free.
Ipswich and Aberdeen had also been linked with a move for the Dublin-born forward, who will be unveiled to the media on Friday.
