Dragons agree new contract with no-nonsense lock Davies
HARD-WORKING lock Joe Davies has agreed a new contract with the Dragons.
The 27-year-old from Caldicot, who is currently sidelined by concussion, has made 114 appearances for the Rodney Parade club.
Davies, son of former World Championships silver-winning and Commonwealth champion weightlifter Andrew, made his Dragons debut at the Scarlets in 2013.
He has been a regular in the side despite the options being strengthened in recent years with the emergence of Ben Carter and signings of Will Rowlands, George Nott and Sean Lonsdale.
Davies has earned nods of approval from a succession of coaches with his work rate and love for the dirty work.
He follows back rower Harri Keddie, tighthead Lloyd Fairbrother, hooker Elliot Dee and centre Jack Dixon in signing fresh terms with more announcements to come.
