Dragons nip Tribe to claim Indian Relays team championship

Mar. 7—Jacksonville and Nacogdoches battled it out from start to finish in the varsity boys division of the (Jacksonville) Indian Relays Wednesday, and in the end it was the Golden Dragons that secured the team championship by scoring 165 polints to the Indians' 155.

Henderson(100), Tyler-Cumberland Academy (90) and Rusk (51) completed the order of finish.

Dennis Cannon of Jacksonville edged team mate Kendrick Grant for the Top Athlete honor. Cannon recorded 27 points and Grant end up with 23.

Jacksonville and Rusk will be back in action on March 21 when the Eagles host the Rusk Relays.

Jacksonville boy's track and field is under the direction of head coach Bradley Gandy.
