A gymnastics club from Durham has accrued national acclaim for its tireless efforts in ensuring everyone can have access to the sport.

Northern Hope Gymnastics Club was nominated for the Inclusion Impact prize at the British Gymnastics Awards 2025, in large part due to its immeasurable efforts in spreading the joys of gymnastics to people of all ages and abilities across Durham.

And after seeing the club's efforts be rewarded with national recognition, head of acrobatics Natalia Cosgrove was bursting with pride.

"Being named a finalist in the 2025 British Gymnastics Awards under the Inclusion Impact Award category is an incredible honour,” she said.

"For us, the true reward is seeing the joy, growth, and confidence that gymnastics brings to our gymnasts, their families, and our young leaders.

"Watching our gymnasts with disabilities achieve success in acrobatic gymnastics alongside their peers has been a privilege."

Head coach Lynn Hope added: "The inclusive environment we’ve created benefits everyone involved, from the gymnasts to the coaches and young leaders, who gain invaluable experience in inclusivity. This recognition is a wonderful bonus, but it’s the smiles, achievements, and shared experiences that truly mean the most to us.

"Looking ahead, we’re excited to focus on making tumbling more inclusive for physically disabled gymnasts, ensuring even more opportunities for everyone to thrive in our sport."

The British Gymnastics Awards 2025 have seen a record-breaking number of nominations this year, focusing on those who have demonstrated a commitment to delivering an uplifting gymnastics experience for all and living the inclusive, aspirational and supportive values of the sport.
