EastEnders airs mystery Elaine Peacock phone call scene
EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders has teased more new arrivals with Elaine Peacock as she takes over the Vic in EastEnders.
Soap bosses have previously confirmed that Elaine, now played by Absolutely Fabulous' Harriet Thorpe, will be moving her extended family — boyfriend George and his daughters — into the pub once she completely takes over.
The seeds for this development were planted in Monday's episode (May 15) when Elaine continued to panic over daughter Linda Carter's feud with the Panesars.
Last week, the soap left off the week with the pub being trashed — with a sign that the Panesars had been sending a message over being used for leverage in Linda's negotiations with Elaine.
While Linda was traumatised over a picture of Mick being smashed in the process, Elaine was dead set on confirming her suspicions about the Panesars.
Elaine would eventually get the damning information she was looking for as Eve Unwin confided in her about how untrustworthy Nish Panesar can be.
She would later find out that Vinny was involved in the break-in and had a confrontation with him where she promised to get even.
Eve would intervene once again, this time to encourage Elaine to drop her vendetta against the Panesars for now because Linda doesn't need the extra stress.
This was seemingly a breakthrough for Elaine, as it inspired her to have a frank conversation with Linda about losing Mick — where she promised to support her daughter no matter what.
However, Elaine was still keeping secrets as the episode finished off with her on the phone to a mystery man.
"The sooner you're here with me, the better," she told the person on the other end of the call.
It's not a big leap to suspect the man she's on the phone with is lover George Knight, who is set to be moving into the Vic with daughters Anna and Gina very soon.
Producer Chris Clenshaw recently teased the new arrivals: "The arrival of the Knights brings a new dawn to Albert Square. George Knight is a charming rogue and an old-school gent who dotes on his two daughters, Gina and Anna. George will take up residence in The Queen Vic when he joins his beloved Elaine, a powerhouse of a land-lady who knows just how to have fun.
"The couple will be joined by feisty, determined and demanding Gina, who is as sharp and cool as cut diamonds but with a temper that blazes like fire, whereas younger sister Anna is fun, loveable, and big-hearted – but don't underestimate her."
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
