EastEnders spoilers follow.
Jay Brown has chosen to keep his new relationship with Nadine a secret in EastEnders.
Heartbroken over the death of his wife Lola, Jay has recently been getting to know newcomer Nadine, who bares a strong resemblance to his late wife, after a chance encounter.
Tonight's episode (September 20) saw Jay consider hiring Nadine as a non-sexual sleeping parter, while also hiding his feelings of guilt from Ben Mitchell and Callum Highway.
After enjoying a restful night of sleep, Jay woke up in Nadine's flat, anxious to get back home before Ben and Callum noticed his absence.
He was left concerned after finding Nadine had removed his shoes after falling asleep, however she reassured him nothing sexual had happened the previous night. "It was the easiest nights work I ever had," she joked, as Jay hurried to leave.
Back at home, Jay found himself questioned by a suspicious Ben, who believed he'd been out meeting women the previous night.
"I've just been walking the streets, it helps me sleep," he insisted, becoming frustrated after Ben and Callum hinted it was too soon to be seeing new people.
"God forbid that I stop myself hurting."
Later on in the square, Nadine bumped into Jay, who was anxious about being seen in public with a woman after his earlier confrontation with Ben. "Sorry I'm just a bit paranoid, they do know me around here," he explained.
Nadine then asked about his previous relationship, with Jay insisting that he didn't want to forget Lola.
"I didn't mean to pry... but you know where I am if you want a temporary distraction," she said, leaving Jay alone with his thoughts.
