EastEnders' Linda to make shock discoveries over newcomer George

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Linda Carter looks set to make some surprising discoveries about George Knight when she decides to do some digging on the newcomer.

In scenes airing this week, Linda's nose is put out of joint when George rocks up in Walford, with his daughters Anna and Gina in tow. Linda is shocked to learn he's dating her mother Elaine Peacock and has arrived to help run the pub.

Next week, Linda struggles as the Knight family quickly make themselves at home in The Vic. Elaine fills Linda in on the family history by revealing that Anna and Gina's mother walked out on the family years ago, leaving George to raise the girls on his own.

Linda's nose is further put out of joint when Phil Mitchell decides to organise a meeting with George to discuss a pub, pie and fight collaboration between The Vic and The Boxing Den.

With George already in Linda's bad books, her anger increases when she overhears him on the phone and realises that he's not sold his bar in Marbella yet – and doesn't have the money to support The Vic's accounts.

Furious, Linda orders George, Anna and Gina out of the pub but receives a shock when George decides to propose to Elaine, in full view of the customers.

Elaine's head is in a spin over George's proposal, but Linda is convinced he's only after Elaine's money, and begs her to end things with him.

Meanwhile, George turns to Phil for advice and is convinced to try and win Elaine around.

Determined to prove that George is up to no good, Linda decides to do some digging and uncovers some further information about George's bar in Marbella. She decides to confront George with what she's discovered, but will it be enough to get him out of her life for good?

Despite Linda's best attempts, it doesn't look like the Knight family will be going anywhere any time soon.

EastEnders producer Chris Clenshaw teased the arrival earlier this year, saying: "George, Gina and Anna have been bound together for years and arriving in Walford is the fresh-start the Knights are looking for.

"We're thrilled to welcome this hugely talented group of actors: Colin Salmon, Harriet Thorpe, Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford who will be immediately thrown into the heart of the Square, and we can't wait for everyone to meet them."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
