easyJet aiming to recruit 1,000 new cabin crew to work from Gatwick and more

A new recruitment campaign from easyJet is aiming to bring in 1,000 new cabin crew members to work from Gatwick Airport and more.

Their new advertising approach aims to tackle stereotypes about the profession and career changers are among those being encouraged to apply.

It highlights that life experiences and transferable skills, such as customer service, communication, teamwork and people management, make many ideal candidates for the role.

For, example a former dental nurse, opera singer, optician and Paris police officer feature in the easyJet campaign.

easyJet career changers at Gatwick Airport

One of the people to feature in the recruitment campaign is Thiago, who joined easyJet after previously being an opera singer.

His background in working with people from all over the world made him suited for working with colleagues and flying passengers of all nationalities across Europe.

Thiago now works as an easyJet Cabin Manager based at Gatwick Airport.

Speaking about his role he said: “Being an opera singer and performing in a choir for 8 years was a great experience of being a team player and a people person which is an important skill for cabin crew.

"I love meeting people and as cabin crew at Gatwick we get to work with new colleagues every day and meet customers from every nationality.”
