The British heavyweight suffered a split decision loss when he last squared off with Pulev in Hamburg back in 2016.

Chisora will be looking to set the record straight when he welcomes the former world heavyweight title contender to London's O2 Arena.

The 38-year-old remains a top draw in boxing despite a total of 12 defeats on his professional record.

However, promoter Eddie Hearn admitted that it's becoming harder to justify his top tier status as the losses continue to mount.

He told DAZN: "I get that it's all about the fight and all about the entertainment, but at the end of the day, I'm having to back him in all these engagements with reporters and fans to say 'yes, but look who he's losing to'. But I can't even justify it after a certain period.

"I know he's losing to Usyk and Klitschko and Fury and Dillian [Whyte]. Pulev is a top 10, top 15 heavyweight. It's not a disgrace losing to [the likes of Pulev]. I said yesterday, Derek is better than 99% of heavyweights out there. But he keeps losing to the 1%." Chisora enters Saturday's bout on the back of three straight defeats - two of them against Joseph Parker and one against current heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Hearn added: "Let's be honest, how many heavyweights are there? Derek is a top 25, he's top 20. He might even be top 15. There's no reason for him to retire other than stop fighting the guys you can't beat. But Pulev is a guy he can beat. Parker is a guy he can beat.

"But if you keep racking up the defeats, you just can't do it anymore. But I'm glad we got that [press conference scuffle] because he's up for it, he's ready."
