Edin Dzeko's agent flies to London for Chelsea transfer talks

Edin Dzeko's agent is expected to fly to London on Monday in order to hold talks with Chelsea on Tuesday.

Chelsea want to sign Dzeko and left wing back Emerson Palmieri from Roma in a double deal worth a minimum £44m.

Standard Sport understands that the 31-year-old striker wants reassurances over the amount of game-time he will get before agreeing to the switch.

The Bosnia international, who has scored 61 times in 117 appearances for Roma, is worried he will stay on the bench behind first choice Alvaro Morata.

Sources in Italy have told Standard Sport that Dzeko's representative Irfan Redzepagic is travelling to the capital to discuss Chelsea's offer.

Dzeko still has over two years left on his current contract at Roma, which is worth around £76,000-a-week.

Chelsea can comfortably afford that although there have been suggestions that the forward's wage demands, which are in excess of that, could threaten the deal.

However, it is believed Dzeko's main concern is over the amount of game-time he will get, especially as he is already cup-tied for the Champions League having played for Roma during the group stage.

The former Manchester City star, who joined Roma in 2016 for just £10m, was happy to stay at the Serie A club. But they need to sell players to raise £36.7m to comply with Financial Fair Play.

Negotiations between the two clubs over the fee for both players are continuing, although Palmieri is expected to make the switch to Antonio Conte's side regardless.
