Tottenham may have already been prepared to sack Ange Postecoglou as bookies favourite replacement Edin Terzic is already reported to be expecting an agreement with the club.

Tottenham's latest defeat to Everton in the Premier League has left them 15th in the table. Despite a late fight-back from 3-0 down, the Spurs players could do no more than 3-2. The club are now closer to the relegation zone than they are to 10th place Fulham.

Postecoglou's defeat at Goodison Park was another poor showing for the Australian manager's philosophy of football. Although his open style of play has got him victories against Manchester City and Liverpool, it has also brought multiple defeats.

Now, with the club far off where they hoped to be, talks of a possible Ange replacement are much more prominent. But, a deal could already be close.

Serdal Adali, president of Turkish side Besiktas, may have already announced the new Tottenham manager as he told Turkish TV broacaster Tivibu Spor last month: "Edin Terzic was one of our foreign alternatives. In the meeting, he said he was expecting an agreement with Tottenham. That book is closed."

This allegedly reveals that Terzic has been discussing on-going conversations with Tottenham whilst being approached from other clubs. The immediate shut down of discussion's with Besiktas would hint at his talks with Spurs being positive.

Terzic is currently not with a club after leaving Borussia Dortmund last summer. He took the Bundesliga side to the Champions League final in 2023/24 where, despite being the better side, lost 2-0 to the Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Other potential candidates for the job are Fulham's Marco Silva, Thomas Frank at Brentford and Andoni Iraola with Bournemouth. All three have had successful season's so far, and more importantly, all three are above Postecoglou in the table right now.
