Arsenal will be hoping to land some dream transfers in this summer's window despite their strict stance on new signings. football.london understands the Gunners are unlikely to welcome a marquee addition similar to their £105million Declan Rice acquisition of last summer.

Such a decision seemingly means the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Victor Osimhen and Alexander Isak, a trio with triple-figure asking prices that have been linked to Arsenal, are unlikely to arrive. Despite that, sealing some big transfers ahead of the 2024/25 season is expected with RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko certainly in that category.

The 21-year-old is said to have a €65million (£55.3m) release clause in his contract with the Gunners in pole position to acquire his services. Recent reports suggest Mikel Arteta has made the Slovenia international his priority attacking target with Sesko also favouring a move to Emirates Stadium.

In terms of other positions, Arsenal are likely to sign a new midfielder with the expectation remaining that Thomas Partey will depart. Fabio Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe are also at risk of being moved on with the latter of interest to Fulham.

With that in mind, the Gunners could welcome two new signings to bolster their midfield ranks with Kai Havertz, initially brought in as a midfielder, shining in a false nine role. Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz still has admirers in north London but he is likely to command a sizeable fee.

Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad and AS Monaco's Youssouf Fofana are also of interest to the Gunners with Benfica ace Joao Neves the latest name linked. Manchester United have pursued the teenager for some time, though Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are now in the race for his signature.

In order to protect themselves, it is perhaps no surprise that Benfica included a release clause in his newest contract with that said to be valued at £105million. Nonetheless, Arsenal raising significant funds through selling first-team players could help seal a marquee addition.

Zubimendi is another midfield target with a set asking price that is perhaps much more affordable for Arsenal. Upon signing a new contract, Sociedad inserted a €60million (£52m) release clause with Arsenal certainly capable of adding him to their midfield ranks however a brutal decision may need to be made soon.

Two of three spots in Arteta's midfield are already known with Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice both enjoying great seasons. However, with Partey likely to be sold, at least one vacancy is open and either Neves or Zubimendi, potentially even both, are capable of filling that.
