Elie Youan Hibs transfer offer on table as club 'mull over' £2million deal from French club

Hibs have reportedly received a "sizeable" transfer offer from a French club for Elie Youan.

The attacker, 25, hit 10 goals and the same number of assists for the Easter Road outfit this season having joined on a permanent basis from St Gallen. His form has brought about some keen admirers and now the Scotsman are reporting that a bid has been tabled for the Premiership side to mull over before the summer window officially opens.

Suggestions are that a more than £2million offer has been placed in front of Ben Kensell and co. to consider as they weigh up their options for next season.

Hibs opted to boot out interest in their player back in January with their desire to keep him under now-former boss Nick Montgomery strong for the end of the campaign.

But now that Monty is no longer at the club having been sacked last week, the finances on the proposed deal could be too good to turn down.

The player still has two years remaining on his contract and that leaves Hibs in a strong position considering they spent just £700k to make his loan permanent last year.

Malky Mackay, now sporting director, will likely have a big say as he also continues to hunt for the next head coach.

We at Football Scotland exclusively told you how Ajax assistant Michael Valkanis was interested in the role and considered a candidate on their longlist.

But now it looks unlikely that the 49-year-old will be the new man in charge as David Gray continues to make strides in the interview process.
