Chelsea boss Emma Hayes is confident there will be no hangover from her side’s FA Cup final triumph when they face Juventus on Wednesday.

With a comprehensive 3-0 win over Arsenal at Wembley, Chelsea secured a delayed domestic treble for the 2020/21 season, adding FA Cup glory to their Women’s Super League and League Cup titles.

They now go straight into another big game, at home to Juventus in the Champions League. Chelsea are top of Group A as it stands, three points ahead of the Italian side.

Hayes has no worries that her side will let their standards slip just a few days after success at Wembley.

“We’ve been here so many times and because of that we just know how to do it,” Hayes said.

“It’s not unusual for us any more to be in a cup final at Wembley, or play Juventus three days later. This is normal for us so I just think it’s business as usual.”

The women’s Champions League introduced a group stage this season, rather than the straight knockout competition that was in place for previous campaigns.

Hayes has welcomed the change, and believe it is helping her personally as a manager.

“I love the group stage, it’s such a great idea, it’s really needed,” Hayes said.

“It’s helped my team, and it will help every team and develop a pool of quality teams across Europe so there’s no doubt it’s really helped.

“I love Champions League football, I like big games. I like to test myself and be in those situations where I’m having to improve.

“I like to get better, I want to keep working as a coach to see different ideas, find different solutions, keep challenging the group to finding their best level. (That’s) the thing I love the most about coaching.”
