Emma Raducanu says she has 'no idea' whether or not she will be fit for Wimbledon this year after being struck down with injury again. The US Open champion headed to Nottingham having already retired injury during matches twice this season - in Guadalajara and Rome - and hat curse struck again. Raducanu started strongly against Viktorija Golubic in her first match at Nottingham but she required a medical time-out midway through the first set. That didn't seem to help her much, and a few games later she conceded the match whilst 4-3 down in the first. "I think I pulled something," Raducanu explained. "I'm not really sure what exactly happened. An absolute freak injury. I don't know what I could have done about it," "I need to get a scan first. I am not going to 'Google doctor' myself. I will get it checked out. Then we will see from there."

The obvious concern is now whether or not Emma Raducanu will be able to compete at Wimbledon, which starts on June 27.

"I have no idea [about Wimbledon]," she admitted. "It could have just seized up and gone into spasm and then it is really bad for a few days. I cannot diagnose myself. I will get it checked out. "It is just a shame. I am obviously disappointed and it is really bad luck. "That's out of my control, but right now all I can focus on is what I am doing and I think I am doing a lot of good work. "I just need to trust that it will come and right now it is happening for a reason and I am exactly where I need to be."
