The Test match between England and India is well poised at the moment with India taking a lead on day 3. They would like to extend their lead up to 300 on the fourth day provided the weather does not play spoilsport. Weather conditions for the fourth day’s play does not look good at the Oval.

The overhead conditions will be cloudy with a chance of rain also possible. The rain has stayed away for the first three days of the Test match but is likely to interrupt proceedings on the fourth day.

Weather Conditions Not Ideal On Day 4 At The Oval

The forecast by AccuWeather suggests the weather conditions will be relatively cloudy for a major part of the day.

The temperatures are to hover between 18-21 degrees with humidity around 86%. The cloud cover of 70% may mean that chances of bad light stopping play like on the third day is minimal. The hourly update of Kenningtal Oval is on a downward curve with intermittent clouds starting at around 2 pm local time all the way through to 11 pm as the conditions become darker and cloudier.

Meanwhile, India finished day 3 on 270/3 with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja batting unbeaten at stumps. Aakash Chopra o his preview of the day’s play has warned India against a possible batting collpase. India’s batting collapsed twice in the same Tets match at Headingley earlier in the series.

“Both openers have played out the difficult period. If you see both innings at Lord’s, both innings at Leeds and the first innings here, there have been four to five innings where there have been collapses, so India will have to be wary of a collapse” said Chopra.

On the other hand, looking back at his maiden Test on foreign soil, Rohit Sharma said that he was taking this as his last opportunity in the format.

“In the back of my mind I knew it was the last chance for me as well, trying another position in the batting order. When the offer came to open the batting, I was very much aware of it because the talks were happening within the management about me opening at some stage. So… mentally, I was ready to take on that challenge, to see if I could do well up the order” said Rohit.
