England have unveiled the final kit numbers for their 26-man squad ahead of Euro 2024, less than a day after Gareth Southgate's team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Iceland in their final friendly before the tournament.

Jon Dagur-Porsteinsson's early goal secured another memorable victory for the visitors over England, leaving many questions unanswered ahead of their first match in Germany against Serbia on Sunday week. Despite fielding a nearly full-strength side, the performance was disappointing.

Dominating possession for much of the game, England only managed one shot on target and were punished for a weak press and a disjointed defence. Now, focus shifts to the competitive matches as the Three Lions aim to maintain their impressive major tournament record under Southgate.

As part of the build-up, England have now released the full list of squad numbers. This could provide some insight into who might be in the starting XI.

Unsurprisingly, Jordan Pickford is No. 1 and is expected to start the tournament as goalkeeper, reports football.london. Kyle Walker retains his No.2 from Manchester City, while Luke Shaw - despite being an injury doubt - has been given his preferred No.3, which could suggest he will be included.

The potential defensive duo of John Stones (No. 5) and Marc Guehi (No.6) took to the field against Iceland but were left exposed in the second half when Stones was taken off due to a fitness concern.

In midfield, Trent Alexander-Arnold's selection is still up in the air as he could be paired with Declan Rice (No.4). The Liverpool star has been awarded the prestigious No. 8 shirt, suggesting he may start in midfield against Serbia.

The rest of the team seems to pick itself. Jude Bellingham, wearing No.10, is expected to start alongside Phil Foden (No. 11) and Harry Kane (No.9).

One of Southgate's remaining conundrums is who will start on the right wing, with Jarrod Bowen (No. 20), Eberechi Eze (No.21), Cole Palmer (No. 24), and Anthony Gordon (No.18) all vying for a spot in the attack. However, Bukayo Saka being given his preferred No.7 jersey suggests he might be the chosen one.
