England will progress to the last 16 at the 2022 Qatar World Cup finals should they beat USA at the Al Bayt Stadium in Doha on Friday night, but how will their players fare this evening?

Follow the action from the second game Gareth Southgate's campaign in our live blog – with input from our correspondents on the ground in Doha and Telegraph Sport columnist Jamie Carragher who will be providing live analysis of all the key moments – and rate the players' performance from the Group B match.

Harry Kane will lead England into the match after the Tottenham Hotspur forward overcame an injury scare to captain the side. The 29-year-old took a kick to the foot during his side's Group B opener against Iran on Monday and was sent for a precautionary scan on his ankle.

Kane trained as usual on Wednesday and Thursday and, as expected, retained his place as manager Southgate named an unchanged starting line-up.

USA opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Wales and made one alteration from that match as Haji Wright replaced Norwich forward Josh Sargent. Former England youth international Yunus Musah again started in midfield for Gregg Berhalter's side.

Following Wales' 2-0 defeat to Iran earlier in the day, England can qualify for the knockout stages should they beat USA – who they have played twice in the World Cup finals having lost once and drawn on the other occasion – while Gregg Berhalter's side will leapfrog the English with a win.

England's final Group B game is against Wales.
