The third Test at Headingly had started with a bang with England dominating the first day totally and India has lots of work to do in the Test to stage a comeback from the position now. Virat Kohli managed to win a toss finally, but his decision to bat first was certainly a question mark as the ball kept talking until the second session. However, there wasn’t any interruption due to rain like in the first two tests.

The day 2 weather report also seems very positive for the cricket fans as there isn’t much chance of rain. The day is set to be sunny in the morning session while the day will be partly cloudy overall. The precipitation percentage is 1 percent throughout the day’s and rain is unlikely to hamper the play. The humidity is around 70 percent and the Indian fast bowlers will definitely need some help from the conditions.

India Falter For 78 In The First Innings

Virat Kohli’s men had no answers to England’s superb bowling in the first two sessions as the hosts rolled up the visitors for just 78 in the first innings. It started off with James Anderson bowling three beauties to get rid of the in-form KL Rahul, struggling Cheteshwar Pujara, and out of form Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane seemed to have found a little bit of partnership going until Rahane was dismissed at the stroke of the lunch.

Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja couldn’t do much with the bat and the lower middle order was wrapped by England quickly. It was an excellent bowling performance from England with all the seamers chipping in with wickets. Anderson and Craig Overtain picked up 3 wickets each while Sam Curran and Ollie Robinson picked up two wickets.

England Displays A Clinical Performance With The Bat

England openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed looked very comfortable in the crease against the Indian seamers and they were ready to punish the loose deliveries which kept the scoreboard ticking. Haseeb Hameed looked very solid while Rory Burns found his best touch in the series. Both the batsmen have crossed their half-centuries already and are unbeaten on the crease.

England has taken a 42 run lead already in the Test with 10 wickets in hand and they have a high probability of winning the Test.
