England vs India 2021: AB de Villiers Urges Spectators To Stop Worrying About Team Selection And “Other Non-Sense”

Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers urged Indian cricket fans, cricket analysts, and critics to stop worrying about team selection and other non-sense and rather enjoy the game of Test cricket. The wicketkeeper-batsman also appreciated England and India for executing a beautiful game in the 4th Test. India defeated England by 157 runs in the 4th Test match at Kennington Oval in London.

India smashed a massive 466-10 in 2nd innings and despite a 99-run deficit, the visitors set up a giant target of 368 for hosts in the 2nd innings. England started well with openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed putting a 100-run opening stand. However, England batsmen eventually lost all wickets on the final day at a score of 210.

Stop Worrying About Team Selection And Other Non-Sense: AB de Villiers

After witnessing the match, AB de Villiers posted a tweet to appreciate the performances of both the teams in the Test. He also urged spectators to stop thinking about team selection and other useless things and rather enjoy such matches.

“As “spectators” of Test Cricket, just stop worrying about team selection and other nonsense and start appreciating the competition, passion, skill and patriotism unfolding in front of your eyes. You’re missing a good game”! AB de Villiers tweeted.

With the victory, India earned a 2-1 lead in the series after the end of the 4th Test at Oval. India and England will now lock horns in the 5th and final Test encounter from September 10. The match will be played at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.

Meanwhile, AB de Villiers on Monday joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp in UAE for the forthcoming IPL 2021. The right-handed batsman plays for Virat Kohli-led RCB in the tournament. IPL 2021 UAE leg is set to commence on September 19. RCB currently hold 3rd spot in the points table with 5 victories and 2 losses in 7 games.
