England vs India 2021: If England Bowlers Stay Patient, I Do Think There Will Be A Cluster Of Wickets Against India, Says Michael Vaughan
Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan predicted that there is a likely Indian batting collapse on the third of the fourth Test at Kennington Oval.
India were 43 for no loss at the end of the second day’s gameplay with England leading by 56 runs. Indian openers Rohit Sharma (20) and KL Rahul (22) tackled the England pacers to ensure they did not cause any damage to their batting line-up.

England pacers led by James Anderson have been phenomenal throughout the series as they have given their every ounce to shut the Indian batters as they did at Headingley and in the first innings they bundled the visitors’ innings on 191.
Vaughan believes that England bowlers need to be patient in order to script another batting collapse of their opponents and also pointed that Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have the ability to dish out the bowlers.
“This four-man seam attack that England have, they have been all over this Indian batting line-up. We saw it in the second innings at Headingley. The Indians made it tough, they hung in there, then there was a collapse. I do think that if England stay patient, I do think there will be a cluster of wickets somewhere,” Vaughan said on BBC’s Test Match Special podcast.
“The first hour is the key. It will swing more in the first hour. In terms of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, they have got the gift to be able to see off those balls that are bowled into that channel,” he added.

Ollie Robinson (19) and James Anderson (14) have been the wrecker-in-chief against India and are also in the top three wicket-takers list in the series. The duo was joined by all-rounder Chris Woakes, who scalped four wickets and scored 50 runs with the bat. Vaughan feels England can capitalize in the early hour and control the game in their hands.
“We have seen continuously throughout this series how the England seamers are good enough to be able to control that channel. If they go chasing that channel too early when the ball is moving around, they will probably snick to the cordon,” Vaughan concluded.
The series is tied at 1-1 after India won the second Test at Lord’s by 151 runs only for England to storm back with an innings and 76 runs triumph at Headingley in the third Test.
