Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq lauded the England bowlers for being very consistent with their line and lengths and eventually earned the rewards in batting-friendly conditions. The combination of James Anderson and Ollie Robinson was a nightmare for the batsmen on Day 4 as the new ball kept talking.

They beat the bat on a number of occasions and stuck around the good lengths without bowling many loose deliveries. India succumbed to yet another batting collapse in the second innings on day 4 after starting the day on 215 for 2 and was bundled out for 278 within the first session. Ollie Robinson was the star in the English bowling lineup picking up his second five-wicket haul in the series.

Inzamam-ul-Haq Heaps Praise On England Bowlers

Inzamam-ul-Haq mentioned that the England bowlers were extremely good at the Headingley pitch which did assist the batsmen traditionally. He reckoned the England bowlers were right on the money from the word go and their consistent line and lengths deserved wickets on day 4.

“Full credit to England’s bowlers, they were exceptional at Headingley. Despite conditions being suitable for batting on Day 4, England’s pacers were top-class. Their line and length was on the mark, and they were rewarded for their consistency,” Inzamam-ul-Haq told on his YouTube Channel.

Inzamam-UL-Haq Lauds James Anderson For Keeping The Pressure Going

Inzamam-ul-Haq felt that James Anderson played a big role on day 4 despite not being among the wickets. He mentioned that Anderson kept the pressure going on from one end and hailed England for putting up a superlative performance after the Lord’s test loss.

“James Anderson may not have picked many wickets but he did not give away any free runs. He kept the Indian batters under pressure throughout and never allowed them to settle. All the England bowlers bowled really well. There was plenty of pressure on them in the previous two Tests but they handled it in a commendable manner,” he added.

India has lots to worry about their batting lineup especially which has shown a lot of vulnerability and has been fairly inconsistent.
