Former England skipper Michael Vaughan expects Joe Root and co. to carry their confidence over from the previous match and come out victorious in the fourth Test against India. The series is currently level at 1-1, with the Oval Test starting today.
England gave the visitors a shellacking in the third Test at Headingley. Everything went right for them, apart from losing the toss. Despite that, England was right on top and bulldozed their way to an innings and 76-run victory.
Taking everything into account, Vaughan was sure that the Englishmen are stronger going into the penultimate Test. He also felt India could fight back hard if Ravichandran Ashwin was included.
“Time to get down to the Oval !! Weather set fair for the week … England stronger this week I reckon .. India also stronger if @ashwinravi99 plays .. England to win though .. This tour has a 2014 feel to it,” Vaughan wrote on his Twitter account.

Michael Vaughan advises Rishabh Pant to tone down his aggressiveness
Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has had a below-par tour of England so far. He has looked fairly comfortable at the crease, although he hasn’t been able to convert his starts into big scores.
Much of it probably comes down to the tough batting conditions in England, where Pant’s gung-ho approach doesn’t pay off dividends most of the time. Vaughan mentioned the same while maintaining that Pant is still the most exciting player in the world.
“Go for it, don’t be ultra-aggressive, he is trying to play technically, he is a better player when he plays cross-batted shots, dancing down and playing 45-degree angle hook shot on the offside,” Vaughan added.
The fourth Test at Oval will get underway on Thursday, with both sides looking to take the lead in the series.
