England vs Scotland Six Nations preview

Stuart Lancaster celebrates his one year anniversary as head coach the way he started it: against Scotland.

The Scots had a dismal autumn and have slipped to 12th in the world rankings. They have a very potent back three, including debutant Sean Maitland, but questions remain over the ability of the men inside to get the ball to them.

As for England, a fair amount of debate surrounds the selection at fly-half. Owen Farrell, of Saracens, has been picked, prompting fans and pundits alike to predict a boring style of play. A steady goal-kicker he may be, but Farrell is not known for his attacking prowess.

Manu Tuilagi and Alex Corbisiero are huge losses, depleting the strength of their scrum and depriving them of their most potent strike runner in the backs. Scotland have picked a big pack, so Corbisiero's replacement, Joe Marler, will have to make sure he is on his game.

One to watch: Billy Twelvetrees

The young centre moved to Gloucester to chase first team rugby and get into the national side. After half a season he has successfully achieved this. A strong runner and powerful tackler, he also has a softer side to his game, with deft offloads and searching passes to the fore. A big game to make his debut in, but the young man should more than manage.
