English Premier League weekend betting preview: Manchester City is a heavy favorite against Arsenal

Welcome to our weekly English Premier League betting preview. With a full slate of games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, it's a prime time to place some bets on the EPL.

Manchester City and Arsenal kick things off on Saturday while the day is capped by Liverpool and Chelsea. Three games are scheduled for Sunday. All odds below are from BetMGM.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal

  • Manchester City (-400)

  • Arsenal (+1050)

  • Tie (+525)

This game has the highest over/under of the weekend at 3.5 goals and you can take the over at +130 while the under is at -185. Man City is a boring pick here, but it’s hard to think about Arsenal after the way it’s played against both Brentford and Chelsea. Go with the favorite.

Aston Villa vs. Brentford

  • Aston Villa (-105)

  • Brentford (+275)

  • Tie (+270)

Brentford is due to suffer its first loss of the season. Villa continues its perfect start to the season here with a win that also hits the under (-105).

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Everton

  • Brighton &Hove (+135)

  • Everton (+210)

  • Tie (+230)

The tie is tantalizing here. Brighton has appeared to fix the goal-scoring woes that plagued it in 2020-21 and Everton has scored at least two goals in each of its first two league games of the season. Over 2.5 goals (+110) and a tie is a fun parlay.

Newcastle vs. Southampton

  • Newcastle (+160)

  • Southampton (+160)

  • Tie (+250)

The tie feels like the right play here, especially at Newcastle.

Norwich City vs. Leicester City

  • Norwich City (+360)

  • Leicester City (-120)

  • Tie (+250)

I’m surprised Leicester aren’t bigger favorites against a newly-promoted Norwich. Yeah, it’s a road game for the Foxes, but they should have enough to eek this one out while under 2.5 goals (+100) is a good play.

West Ham vs. Crystal Palace

  • West Ham (-175)

  • Crystal Palace (+500)

  • Tie (+300)

West Ham should also make this nine points in three games. Don’t think too much about this one.

Liverpool vs. Chelsea

  • Liverpool (+145)

  • Chelsea (+185)

  • Tie (+240)

Saturday’s marquee game is a barnburner. Chelsea is emerging as Manchester City’s biggest title threat but won’t have the space it found against Arsenal. A 1-1 tie is the pick here.

Burnley vs. Leeds

  • Burnley (+210)

  • Leeds (+130)

  • Tie (+240)

Burnley has been a trendy candidate to get relegated and there hasn’t been much from them yet so far this year. Leeds should take it on the road.

Tottenham vs. Watford

  • Tottenham (-250)

  • Watford (+650)

  • Tie (+375)

Will we see Harry Kane start this game after he said he was staying at Tottenham? Watford started the season with a win and then lost on the second weekend. Tottenham wins this.

Wolverhampton vs. Manchester United

  • Wolves (+375)

  • Manchester United (-125)

  • Tie (+250)

Manchester United should have beaten Southampton and instead tied the Saints 1-1. It’s not going to be surprising if the Red Devils win 3-0 or end up tying Wolves. Stay away from the result and bet the over (-115).
