The 20-year-old American rode Barron - her nine-year-old partner since December - to victory in the jump-off, beating the likes of Ben Maher with Tripple XIII and Rolf Goran Bengtsson with Quintero Ask, who finished fourth and fifth respectively.

French riders from the HDC stable took second and third with Patrice Delaveau and Carjinho HDC and Kevin Staut and Sylvana HDC joining Davis on the podium.

The top five all completed the nine-pair jump-off without incurring any penalties with Davis going round in 38.57 seconds and the French pair incredibly close behind with times of 38.90s and 38.97s respectively.

On Friday, French riders also impressed in the 1.50m Canton de Vaux class, with European champion Roger-Yves Bost and Myrtille Paulois registering a comfortable victory.
