Frankel in action

Midday produced the unnamed bay filly at Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket, the breeding base for Khalid Abdullah who owned both Frankel and Midday. With 16 Grade Ones between sire and mare this filly has blue blood coursing through her veins. The track exploits of Frankel are well known but Midday was also a phenomenal performer for Cecil and scooped three Nassau Stakes as well as the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf among her nine victories from 23 starts. Juddmonte Farms general manager Phillip Mitchell said: "Obviously this was a much anticipated foaling. We are very pleased with the foal - Midday is an excellent mother and both she and the filly are very well. "We have had many people contact us regarding Midday and her Frankel foal and would be interested to hear any naming suggestions from members of the public." Frankel, who has a covering fee of £125,000, is set to cover eight-year-old Midday again this year.
