German Christian Ahlmann on Codex One

In a unique concept for a showjumping class, 10 ladies pitted their skills against 10 men in what had been dubbed the 'EADS battle of the sexes'.

And while six women managed to qualify for the second round, German Ahlmann won the event on Codex One to claim a second straight title for the men after Rolf-Göran Bengtsson victory last year.

Ahlmann's partner Judy-Ann Melchior, who was on the women's team, said: "Ususally I am very courteous, but tonight I made an exception"!

Earlier in the night, in the Style & Competition for AMADE - the World Association of Children's Friends - class, the duo of Olivier Philippaerts and Ekaterina Rybolovleva topped the podium.

Second were Julien Epaillard and François Tanguy, while and Charlotte Casiraghi and Edwina Tops-Alexander came in third.
