Peugeot Sport took its 208 Type R5 to southern France for four days of running with M-Sport heading to its private test facility close to its base in northwest England to continue the development of its Ford Fiesta R5.
Afterwards, bosses from both firms were pleased with the progress made so far.
Alexis Avril, technical manager of Peugeot Sport, said: “Despite the changeable weather, we covered a high number of kilometres and we have already started to explore different technical solutions.”
M-Sport managing director Malcolm Wilson added: “The initial tests have been very promising indeed. We still have a lot of work to do before the car is ready for its competitive debut, but at the moment the project is looking good.”
