Scotland star Erin Cuthbert was BOOED by Celtic fans as she came off the bench in last night's Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.

The 72-times capped midfielder has been on the books at Chelsea for the last seven years, lifting an astonishing seven WSL titles, four FA Cups and two League Cups for the most successful women's team in England. However, her history with Rangers wasn't forgotten by the travelling Hoops support as the green-and-white faithful jeered the 26-year-old onto the park for the second successive week.

Cuthbert came through the ranks at Ibrox and was named SWPL's Young Player of the Year in 2014 before moving to Glasgow City a year later. But she's never hidden her love for Rangers and admitted before last Wednesday's 2-1 win at Parkhead that her Gers-daft family were desperate for her to score.

While she didn't get on the scoresheet in Glasgow, the Irvine-born star was given a second shot at silencing the green-and-white faithful when she was thrown on early in the second-half last night. With Sonia Bompastor's side leading 2-0 at the time, Cuthbert was given some minutes against her former Old Firm rivals and lapped up the rough reception she got from the Celtic faithful.

It was all good-natured, though, and Cuthbert clearly saw the funny side as she smiled entering the field of play. However, neutrals watching on may have been scratching their heads and TNT Sports commentator Jacqui Oatley quickly moved to offer an explanation.

She chuckled: "If you did hear any boos from the Celtic contingent, that's likely why, as we just heard a minute ago. The Rangers supporter from the south of Glasgow."

In the end, Chelsea eased into the quarter-finals of the Women's Champions League with two games to spare after cruising to a 3-0 win - as the pointless Hoops were sent tumbling out of the competition.
