Errani wins Barcelona Open

Sara Errani's superb form continued with a 6-2 6-2 thrashing of Dominika Cibulkova to win the Barcelona Open.

The seventh seed had made short work of her quarter- and semi-final opponents, and was equally clinical to romp to the title in just 65 minutes.

Cibulkova could not get going behind her own serve, offering up seven double faults and surrendering six breaks of serve to her Italian opponent.

Errani, who reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open earlier in the year and won another clay court event last month in Acapulco, is set to reach a new career-high ranking when the new figures are released.

She is currently the world number 33, and has been as high as 30.
