The Champions League game between Monaco and Borussia Dortmund goes ahead on Wednesday night, less than 24 hours after Dortmund defender Marc Bartra was hurt in a blast which saw the match postponed.
Bartra has posted on Instagram and Twitter to say that he is recovering well following the shocking attack on the Dortmund bus, with one person having been arrested following the incident which occurred at Dortmund’s team hotel.
There was a heartwarming reaction from football fans on Tuesday night, with residents of Dortmund offering beds to those who had travelled from France, and Monaco fans in the stadium singing the name of their hosts.
And with both sets of fans reconvening at the Signal Iduna Park for the match ,which kicks off at 5:45pm, that spirit of solidarity continued.
