Chelsea and Liverpool battle for Gibson
The Mirror claim that the entire top six want to try and sign Ben Gibson in the summer but it is Chelsea and Liverpool who are leading the way. Boro reportedly want to keep him but his stock has risen after an England call-up and they accept they may have to sell.
Paper Round's view: Gibson has been very impressive in a struggling Boro side and if they do go down he will probably move on. However if Boro were to actually stay up he may be best placed to stay put so he can actually play Premier League games on a consistent basis. At 24, he has time on his side.
Newcastle want Sigurdsson
Newcastle United want to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson in order to spearhead their return to the Premier League. Sigurdsson has made it clear he wants to leave Swansea and the Sun report that he is the main target of Rafa Benitez in the summer. It is reported that he will cost around £15 million.
Paper Round's view: Sigurdsson is a fantastic player and he deserves another crack at Premier League football. The Rafa revolution is a gamble in that regard but it would be a guarantee of regular football.
