Shiffrin finished 0.24 seconds back to take second, with Frida Hansdotter of Sweden occupying the final spot on the podium.
Shiffrin went into the final two races with an almost unassailable 198-point advantage at the top of the leaderboard, a win almost guaranteed after Ilka Stuhec's withdrawal.
"I don't know if I'll ever process that," Shiffrin said of her overall title.
