Euro 2020 betting: Mbappe, Lukaku and Kane are the most popular bets for top scorer

Bettors are backing a household name to be the top scorer at Euro 2020.

France’s Kylian Mbappe, Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku and England’s Harry Kane are the three most popular bets to win the Golden Boot with the most goals at Euro 2020. Mbappe is the most-bet player at BetMGM with almost 18% of tickets, while 14.6% of the tickets are on Lukaku. Twelve percent of the tickets are on Kane.

The most money is on Lukaku at 15.2% of the handle while Mbappe is second at 13.5%. The three players are the top three favorites to win the Golden Boot.

There’s a decent chance that Mbappe and Kane could meet in the Round of 16 after the Group stage. Kane and England are the favorites in Group D while France is in a Group F that contains both Portugal and Germany. The second-place team in Group F plays the top team from Group D. If England wins its group, then at least one of England, France, Germany and Portugal will be out of the tournament before the quarterfinals.

Keep that in mind when you make your bets. And keep in mind that France wasn’t a high-scoring team when it won the World Cup in 2018. The French attack is loaded with Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema. But the French scored two or fewer goals in five of their seven games at the World Cup.

Bettors looking for a relative long shot like Italy’s Ciro Immobile. His goalscoring record for the national team isn’t phenomenal but Italy has a very feasible road to the semifinals and this is an Italian team that can rack up the goals. Immobile is pulling 12.3% of the handle. He’s the No. 7 favorite.

Here’s a list of the top favorites the day before the tournament begins.

Harry Kane, England (+600)

Romelu Lukaku, Belgium (+600)
