Euro Paper Talk: Klopp winds back the clock in Liverpool move for £16m Bayern Munich midfielder; Tottenham target free agent centre-back
Liverpool are ready to renew their interest in signing a midfielder who is currently struggling for game time at Bayern Munich, while Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Tottenham are keen on landing a free agent centre-back from Germany who is also interesting Jurgen Klopp.
KLOPP BACK IN FOR BAYERN MIDFIELDER
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly renewed his interest in signing Netherlands midfielder Ryan Gravenberch this summer.
A report from Sport1 claims that the Reds are monitoring the player’s current situation at Bayern Munich.
Liverpool had previously enquired about Gravenberch, although Bayern are not keen on selling the 20-year-old at this stage.
Gravenberch has had less game time than he would have liked during his six months in Munich. And if that continues then there is a chance the player will start considering his future.
The 20-year-old only joined Bayern in the summer from Ajax in an €18.50m deal. However, he has struggled to establish himself behind the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka in Bayern’s engone room.
The midfielder’s current contract runs until 2027 so Bayern can still demand a hefty fee for his services.
Bayern star struggling to make his mark
Gravenberch did, however, made his first start for Bayern in the league last weekend in their 3-2 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Things did not go well well though and he was subbed off at half-time.
As for Liverpool’s continued midfield hunt, Jude Bellingham remains Klopp’s top target.
However, it looks increasingly likely that the Dortmund and England man is Real Madrid bound.
Klopp is keen to add at least two new players to his midfield this summer, with the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Thiago all in their 30s.
Another Klopp stalwart, Fabinho, has also been tipped to leave in a major shake-up at Anfield after a hugely disappointing campaign.
