Tottenham will reportedly sign three players in Janaury with two midfielders closing in on moves, Newcastle’s next two targets have been identified by Fabrizio Romano, while Monday’s Euro Paper Talk has details of Unai Emery’s first signing for Aston Villa.
LEVY WANTS TWO MIDFIELDER DEALS AS PART OF TRIPLE JANUARY SPLURGE
Tottenham are ready to back Antonio Conte with serious funds in the January transfer window with three signings reportedly in the works.
The Italian has galvanised Spurs since his arrival one year ago and can this week lead the club into the last 16 of the Champions League.
Tottenham are not among the favourites for the competition and that will suit them just fine. However, the club are hoping to go deep into the competition, while the club also hopes to push Man City and Arsenal hard in the title race.
However, Conte knows his squad will need more quality and quantity adding to it. And reports claim chairman Daniel Levy is ready to sanction three big January arrivals to further their chances.
And Conte is looking for more additions to his central midfield with reports linking them with two new additions.
Top of Conte’s wishlist is Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi, reports Calciomercato.
The 29-year-old is no longer regarded as a regular starter for the Serie A title chasers, making just two starts this season.
However, Conte is a big admirer of the Ukrainian and is keen to bring him to north London. Atalanta would prefer to keep him in their mix – but with his deal due to expire in the summer, any sort of offer will convince them to sell.
Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Marseille are also reportedly keen. However, it is Tottenham who are in the driving seat for a deal.
Tottenham want Weston McKennie to join Ruslan Malinovskyi
Conte is also looking to add even more depth to his midfield with a deal also progressing for Weston McKennie.
The American is likely to be sacrified by Juventus in January with a big-money to Spurs on the agenda.
McKennie has struggled to make an impact in Turin since signing from Schalke in 2020. And with the club using the World Cup break to ‘analyse their transfer mistakes’, they are ready to cash in on the 24-year-old.
As a result, Tuttomercatoweb claims a sizeable offer will convince them to cash in on the star. And they report that Spurs are already well advanced in the race to sign McKennie with director Fabio Paratici – who signed McKennie in the first place for Juve – a big fan of the player.
Spurs are well equipped in midfield already, though summer signing Yves Bissouma has struggled to hit top form since his arrival from Brighton.
There is also more good news coming Tottenham’s way with a key Juventus official rubbishing claims of a move to re-appointment Conte.
