Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici could rekindle interest in a long-term target this week, while Leicester reject a midfielder offer – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.

PARATICI PONDERS ZANIOLO FOR TOTTENHAM

Tottenham director of football Fabio Paratici could revive his long-term interest in Nicolo Zaniolo while he is in Italy this week, according to a report.

Following the arrival of six new faces at Spurs, the attention is now turning to outgoings from Antonio Conte’s team. Defender Japhet Tanganga is reportedly nearing a loan move to AC Milan.

Indeed, Paratici has travelled to the city to discuss the 23-year-old’s transfer with his counterparts.

According to Calciomercato, though, Paratici is thinking of rekindling his transfer ties to Zaniolo while on his work trip.

The former Juventus chief has an ‘old obsession’ with the Roma midfielder and may turn back to trying to strike a deal with the Italian capital club – this time for Tottenham.

Zaniolo and Roma have had a rocky relationship in the past. Despite the latest report noting both player and club have moved on in recent weeks, it adds that Roma could still sell the 23-year-old this summer.

Paratici has used his ties with the Italian transfer market to good effect while working alongside Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

Spurs signed Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus in January. This summer, Conte has re-signed Ivan Perisic after they won Serie A together at Inter.

Zaniolo would prove another exciting addition if Tottenham stepped up their interest in the nine-cap Italy international.

He began life at Roma in impressive fashion in the 2018/19 campaign and showed further flashes of that talent last term. In between, two knee injuries set his progress back and he is now looking for an uninterrupted season ahead.

However, Zaniolo only has two years left on his contract and so a decision from the player and Roma over his future is due soon – potentially this summer.
